The most limiting nutrient in aquarium water is carbon dioxide (CO2). Plants need CO2 to complete the process of photosynthesis, which transforms CO2 into oxygen (O2) and glucose for plant growth.
In order to create beautiful aquascapes, CO2 injection systems are optional, but the installation of one in an aquascape will certainly speed up and optimize plant growth. Some plant species cannot survive inside an aquarium if CO2 is not readily available to them.
This section is filled with information on many topics surrounding the use of CO2 injection systems in an aquascape.
